The name says it all.
This former sawmill clings to its rustic past with walls of potato boxes and rough hewn communal tables made of wind blown beech from the estate; all cut and made on the farm by our resident joiner.
The menu: Steaks, hung for no less than 28 days, burgers and sausages made here in our butchery, all cooked to order on our massive wood-fired BBQ. Add twice fried chips, or crispy beer battered onion rings, wine and local beer and enjoy. Complete the experience a little something sweet and perhaps a wee espresso.
Be sure to check out our menus; changed often and rarely repeated, visit us regularly to try our chef's mix of fresh and seasonally inspired dishes, along with our ever-changing selection of cuts supplied directly from The Butchery.
In the Steak Barn we like to keep things casual. No bookings. Just turn up and we’ll take good care of you.

Please note; In the interest of keeping all our customers and team safe through social distancing, we will be operating at a reduced capacity inside The Steak Barn than previous. We have done this by spacing out tables and moving surplus tables outside.
This means that you will also be able to eat alfresco, and we have created an ordering app, which can be accessed by scanning a QR code on your table, using your smart phone. You simply order and pay for your meal, and your server will bring out your order.
Inside ordering will be done the usual way by a server, and all of our team will be wearing face masks throughout your visit. To comply with current government guidelines, we too will be asking for your contact details in the interest of contact tracing.
